3-Steps to Trenchless Pipe Lining
We begin all pipe lining projects with a detailed forensic study of the existing pipe system by means of a HD video camera inspection. A digital copy of the video is yours to keep.
Sewer Pipe Cleaning
The sewer system is cleaned using hydro (water) jetting and/or a mechanical cleaning process that removes scale, buildup, debris, blockages and restores flow in the existing pipes.
Lining & Reinstatement
Your cleaned pipes are lined with an epoxy saturated tube (liner). The tube hardens and the new structural line becomes stronger than PVC. A robotic tool is then used to reopen branch lines.

Detecting Sewer Pipe Damage
The worst sewer pipe problems usually start out as small issues. Often, those small issues are overlooked until they become very apparent and very big. That’s why we recommend watching for these and other tell-tale signs of potential sewer pipe problems:
- Slow Drainage
- Frequent Backups
- Spots of Mold or Mildew
- Sinking Foundations or Landscaping
- Extra Green Grass Patches
- Rodents or Pests
- Sewage Gas Smell (Rotten Eggs)
Any of these signs can indicate a problem and mean you should contact a company you trust for a professional sewer pipe inspection. At Pipelining Technologies, we use the most updated technology to conduct our inspections, making sure that nothing is missed. You receive a digital copy of the inspection video along with a report of our findings.
Trenchless pipe lining is an exciting advancement in sewer pipe repair. Previous methods required exposing the damaged pipe by digging trenches through the building’s foundation, replacing the pipe, and then repairing the trenches and flooring. Because sewer pipes are, by necessity, buried within a property, even reaching the pipe could mean costly demolition, often to areas of the property that you have invested cabinetry, fine countertops, tile, and more.
Pipe lining, also known as cured-in-place pipe (CIPP), makes it possible to repair a deteriorated or cracked pipe from within the existing pipe itself.
After thoroughly cleaning and descaling the pipes, we insert a custom-built epoxy saturated tube (liner) directly into the old pipe, gently inflate it to the pipe’s diameter, and let it cure. The cured pipe seals over any leaks to create what is essentially a new pipe within the old one, one with many benefits that include:
- Avoids Demolition – There is minimal intrusion to your property and no need for expensive, time-consuming reconstruction with trenchless pipe lining.
- Convenient – Traditional sewer repair can require the water to be shut off for weeks while pipe replacement takes place. Trenchless pipe lining typically takes only a few days with limited water shutoffs, meaning you can stay in your home or operate your business during the process with minimal interruptions to your routine.
- Safer – In order to reach the pipe for a traditional repair, excavations mean exposing and harvesting the aged sewer pipe. This could disperse particulates into the air you breathe.
- Effective – The new lining has a 50-year life use expectancy. It is leak-free, with a hardness similar to PVC!
In addition, trenchless pipe lining can be used with almost any existing system, residential, multifamily (condos and apartments), or commercial. It works with cast iron pipes, PVC pipes, steel pipes, lead pipes, and others, as well as branched, bent, lateral, and vertical sewer lines.
